The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the women’s squad for India’s tour of South Africa next month. Anushka Sharma getting maiden senior team call-up from team.

The 22-year-old all-rounder Anushka Sharma from Madhya Pradesh was one of the three incomings in the team squad, alongside with Uma Chetry and Kashvee Gautam. At that time Vaishnavi Sharma, Sneh Rana, G.Kamalini and Amanjot Kaur have been excluded from the team with Uma replacing Kamalini.

The ODI World champion India will travel to South Africa next month after an Australia tour, where it lost the one-off Test and ODI series but won the T20 series.

In this South Africa tour will help as to prepare ahead of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026, which begins on June 12 in England. India and South Africa have been drawn in the same group at the T20 World Cup alongside with Australia, Pakistan and two teams from the qualifiers.

For this South Africa tour Harmanpreet Kaur will handle the team as Captain and Smriti Mandhana act as vice-captain. Indian team has fully filled with experience and young talented players.
