Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), the three-time Indian Premier League (IPL) champion named left-hand batter Rinku Singh as its vice-captain for the 2026 season.
The 28-year-old Rinku Singh, who was part of India’s T20 winning World Cup squad and he has played for Kolkata Knight Riders since the 2018 season.
Kolkata Knight Riders newest addition starting with left-arm seamer Saurabh Dubey, featuring the imposing pair of Cameron Green and Blessing Muzarabani, before welcoming captain Ajinkya Rahane along with newly named vice-captain Rinku Singh.
KKR facing injuries troubling some of their key fast bowlers likely to lean heavily on its batting strength. Rinku Singh has already impressed in the finisher’s role and could have an even bigger impact this season.

Abhishek Nayar, KKR head coach said,
“We have seen Rinku Singh evolve as a player and a act like a leader. We wanted him to shoulder a little more responsibility and this is the perfect time to hand over.
Rinku Singh said,
“It really feels good to be named as KKR’s vice-captain role. My dream came true after we became the champion in the T20 World Cup 2026. Now I will try to fulfil my responsibility to won the IPL trophy.”
The three-time champion KKR will begin its 2026 season against Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium on Sunday.
