IPL 2026 : Rajasthan Royals named Dasun Shanaka as replacement for Sam Curran

Indian Premier League 2026 – Rajasthan Royals has picked Sri Lanka’s Dasun Shanaka as the replacement for the injured all-rounder Sam Curran for the upcoming IPL 2026.

Sam Curran, who had joined Rajasthan Royals from Chennai Super Kings following a player trade and suffered a groin injury, which ruled out of IPL 2026.

Dasun Shanaka will join RR for INR 2 Crore in auction and he has played Sri Lanka in six Tests, 71 ODIs and 131 T20Is and has over 3350 international runs and 86 wickets in international cricket.

The 34-year-old Shanaka set to represent Lahore Qalandars in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) before he was joined in by the Royals.

Before that he has played for Gujarat Titans (GT) in the past IPL seasons. The young English Cricketer Sam Curran suffered a groin injury which ruled him out of IPL 2026 season.

Rajasthan Royals will starts their IPL 2026 matches with a home game against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in Guwahati on March 30.

Riyan Parag will lead the Rajasthan Royals 2026 team and Dhruv Jurel will be Wicket-keeper. Tushar Deshpande and Jofra Archer will lead the fastest bowling team.
