Australian Open 2024: Coco Gauff, US Open champion beat the unseeded Marta Kostyuk by 7-6 (8/6), 6-7 (3/7), 6-2 on and move into her first AO semi-final.
The 19-year-old Coco Gauff wore down the Ukrainian Kostyuk in hot conditions on Rod Laver Arena by 7-6 (8/6), 6-7 (3/7), 6-2 in three hours and eight minutes.
In the next round Coco will face defending champion and WTA second seed Aryna Sabalenka on Thursday for a place to move in the final.
Coco Gauff said,
“Really happy, really proud of the fight I showed today, who had never progressed beyond the fourth round at Melbourne Park in four previous attempts. Marta is a tough opponent and I really fought and left it all on the court today.”

Coco Gauff reached into the semi-finals without facing a seed after crashed a top players out of the tournament early.
