Australia head coach Tony Popovic has announced 26-man Australia squad for FIFA World Cup 2026 list, which is included midfielder Cristian Volpato
The Sydney-born Sassuolo playmaker is one of two uncapped players selected, alongside Japan-based striker Tete Yengie. Volpato’s inclusion made a significant boost for Australia team as they prepare for football’s biggest move.

The Veteran goalkeeper Mat Ryan will lead the team squad following an impressive season with Levante in La Liga. The experienced shot-stopper is set to appear at his fourth World Cup achievement of Melbourne City forward Mathew Leckie.
Total of Seventeen members squad are preparing for their first-ever World Cup appearance, highlighting a blend of youth and experience in Australia’s campaign.

Cristian Volpato’s switch to Australia on Friday is a welcome boost after injured midfielder Riley McGree was ruled out of the tournament. This is the Australia’s sixth successive World Cup and they are in Group D alongside Turkey, co-host the United States and Paraguay.
