French Open 2026 – World No.1 Aryna Sabalenka was too strong for a battling against Naomi Osaka and winning 7-5, 6-3 in the first women’s night-session match in three years on Court Philippe Chatrier.
The Belarusian Aryna Sabalenka will next face Russian Diana Shnaider in the Quarter-final. The 23rd seed left-hander Russian beat former Australian Open winner Madison Keys by 6-3, 3-6, 6-0 to reach Quarter-finals.

Top seed Aryna Sabalenka delivered a dominant performance to defeat fellow four-time Grand Slam champion Naomi Osaka and advance to the French Open 2026 quarterfinals in Paris on Monday.

With her convincing victory, Sabalenka remains the only Grand Slam singles champion left in either the men’s or women’s draw at Roland Garros Champion. The Belarusian is chasing her first French Open title and looking to erase the last year disappointment final defeat to Coco Gauff.
Sabalenka’s remarkable consistency on the biggest stage continues as she has now reached the quarterfinals in 14 consecutive Grand Slam tournaments.
Aryna Sabalenka said,
“Really I didn’t expect that I would serve that great, I feel like am getting better and better with every match I play and overall. I am super happy with how I played well today.”

The highly anticipated match marked the first time since June 2023 that a women’s singles contest occupied the prestigious night-session.
Sabalenka edged a tightly contested that was largely dominated by powerful serving from both players. But exchanging early service breaks, the World No.1 secured a big break in the 11th game before serving out the set.
The second set Belarusian took complete control, winning four consecutive games from 3-2 down to seal a straight-sets victory.
Elsewhere, The Austrian 28th seed Anastasia Potapova was unable to build on her victory over defending champion Coco Gauff. Potapova twice served for the match but eventually fell down by 6-4, 2-6, 7-6 (10-7) to Russia’s Anna Kalinskaya in a dramatic contest.
Kalinskaya ready to face Polish qualifier Maja Chwalinska, who continued her dream run at Roland Garros with a convincing 6-3, 6-2 win over the French player Diane Parry.
Maja Chwalinska said,
“She is one of the top players in the world. No one knows me to be honest, so definitely a very challenging one, like every match here we played. Polishian Maja Chwalinska will facing Kalinskaya in the Quarter-final.
