David Warner arrested With Drink-Driving in Sydney After Weekend

Former International Australia opener David Warner has reportedly been charged with mid-range drink-driving after police stopped him in Sydney over the weekend in his native Australia.

Police allegedly stopped the 39-year-old Warner after his van pulled up short of a random breath-testing site on Sunday. A roadside breath test taken and reportedly returned a positive result before a second reading at the police station allegedly showed 0.104. it is more than twice the legal limit in New South Wales state. He have to scheduled to appear in the court on May 7.

In this case Police did not officially announce the name of former Australian batter in their statement, but reports identified the 112-Test veteran, who finished his Test career with 8,786 runs.

The left-handed opening batsman was action for the Karachi Kings in the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL), where he has been leading the side as captain. Reports said, the legal issue is not expected to affect his immediate PSL commitments with Karachi Kings set to continue their campaign in this week.

Before his International retirement, Warner enjoyed a glittering Test career in 13-year and playing his final match against Pakistan in January 2024. He made his ODI and T20I debuts for Australia in the year January 2009 and he become one of the most destructive opening batters across all formats.

David Warner also remains a famous figure in franchise cricket, having represented teams such as Delhi Capitals (DC) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the Indian Premier League.

Warner played 112 test matches, 161 ODI matches, 110 T20 matches and 184 IPL matches in his cricket life journey.
