The Upcoming New Zealand three-Test series against West Indies squad has been announced on Monday, Kane Williamson and Mitchell included.

Kane Williamson and Daryl Mitchell was included in the New Zealand squad for three-Test series against West Indies on Monday along with experienced seamer Blair Tickner and gun Zak Foulkes.

Former captain Williamson has announced his retirement from international Twenty20 cricket and skipped the ODI series against the West Indies, which concluded on Saturday with a 3-0 sweep for the Black Caps.

Daryl Mitchell,eighth on the ICC Test batting rankings also returns after missing the last two ODI matches with a groin strain he picked up while scoring a century in the series opener.

Seamers Will O’Rourke and Ben Sears were sidelined with injuries, while Kyle Jamieson is set to miss the opening match of the series.

The 32-year-old Blair Tickner was twice named Player of the Match in the ODI series against England in late October and early November. Jacob Duffy also included as another pace option.

Zakary Foulkes claimed a remarkable nine-wicket haul during his Test debut alongside Duffy against Zimbabwe in Bulawayo last August.

NZ coach Rob Walter said,

“The 35-year-old batter Kane’s ability on the field speaks for itself and it will be the great to his skills as well as his leadership back in the Test group. He had a bit of time off to get himself ready for red-ball cricket.”

“Both Jacob and Blair have been around a while and know what it takes to perform at the highest level.”

“Zakary couldn’t have performed much better in his first Test against Zimbabwe, along with his recent form across the white-ball tours, has rightfully earned him selection.”

West Indies has recalled their veteran paceman Kemar Roach to its squad for the series, which kicks off in Christchurch on December 2 and includes Tests in Wellington and Tauranga.
