Australian Kaylee McKeown becomes first woman to hold World Record

Australian Kaylee McKeown becomes the first woman to hold every backstroke World Record. Kaylee McKeown said, “she was super stoked” after she becoming the first woman to hold world records in all the three backstroke disciplines by smashing in the 50m mark.

The 22-year-old McKeown is the world record holder in the long course 100 metre backstroke and both long course and short course 200 metre backstroke also.

The Australian Swimmer clocked 26.86 seconds at the World Cup in Budapest on Friday to shows her better previous best of 26.98 set by China’s Liu Xiang in the year 2018.

McKeown said,
“I am super stoked with that. I really feel onething that I can keep doing is training hard and keep believing in myself and believing in my coach. For me next year is going to be a really tough year so the more confidence I can build, the better.”

  • McKeown has held the 100m world record since June 2021 year and she bagged the 200m in March.
  • McKeown swept the 50m, 100m and 200m backstroke titles in the world championships in the July and also she owns the Olympic 100m and 200m golds also.
