Shreyas Iyer was born and raised in Mumbai in a middle-class family. His father Santosh Iyer, hails from Thrissur, Kerala and his mother Rohini Iyer is from Mangalore, Karnataka. From a young age, Shreyas displayed a strong passion for cricket. He studied at Don Bosco High School, Matunga and later attended Ramniranjan Anandilal Podar College of Commerce and Economics, Mumbai. His cricketing talent was first recognized at the age of 12 by coach Pravin Amre at the Shivaji Park Gymkhana. Shreyas spent countless hours honing his batting skills and his dedication soon began to yield results as he excelled in local and school-level tournaments.

Early Stage of Shreyas Iyer:
During his early career, Shreyas Iyer represented Mumbai at the Under-19 level and played a crucial role in several tournaments. His breakout moment came in the 2014–15 Ranji Trophy season, where he was Mumbai’s top scorer with over 800 runs. His consistent domestic performances earned him an IPL contract with the Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals) in 2015.
