England team Expecting Jofra Archer’s availability for T20 World Cup

England Cricket team is expecting to having a fully-fit for pacer Jofra Archer for the upcoming T20 World Cup.

Jofra Archer, who played a key role in England’s team to win 2019 World Cup. He has not played any professional cricket matches since May last year.

The 28-year-old fast bowler undergoing rehabilitation following the recurrence of his long-standing elbow injury.

England’s director of cricket Rob Key said,

“Our plan is to be the T20 World Cup, building him up slowly. I saw him bowl in the Caribbean, and it was like he had never been away. I don’t want to get back to this thing where he plays and then goes down again.”

“He wanted to play in the IPL, but we said not this time. Hopefully, the years he has missed, he can add to the end of his career. He is such a talent.”

The right-arm England pacer has been plagued by injuries for the last three years. After that he made a comeback in white-ball cricket and playing three T20I’s and four ODI’s in the first quarter of 2023.

He suffered the recurrence of his injury in the right-arm elbow during last year IPL, which he ruled him out of action once again.

Jofra Archer was also ruled out of the IPL season with his franchise Mumbai Indians releasing him. In the last IPL he was playing in the Mumbai Indians squad a few games, though he looked far from his best while managing with elbow injury.
