Dominic Thiem, who won the US Open men’s singles title in the year 2020 announced his retirement due to his wrist injury forced him to arrive at this decision.

Former US Open Champion Dominic Thiem has announced his retirement, he took to social media to announce that he will retire at the end of this season.

Thiem’s recent title was being the US Open men’s singles title in the year 2020 and totally he has won 17 career titles.

The 30-year-old Australian reached the final in the Australian Open 2017 and the French Open final in the year 2018 and 2019. He is currently ranked 117th position in the ATP Men’s ranking.

“My wrist is not exactly the way it should be but It is not exactly the way how I want it.”

“The second reason to took this decision is my inner feeling. I was thinking about this decision for a very long long time. I really thinking very carefully about this. I was thinking about my whole tennis journey, which has been incredible journey. I have had success and won trophies that I had never dream of, so the journey was incredible to me.”

“I am very happy with this decision and I am also super excited for everything what is coming to me next.”
