IPL 2024: Kolkata Knight Riders have chosen England’s Phil Salt to join their squad for the 2024 Indian Premier League (IPL). Salt is stepping in for Jason Roy, who had to withdraw from the tournament due to personal reasons.
Phil Salt will be participating in his second IPL season, having been unsold in the auction following his stint with the Delhi Capitals in the previous year.

The English wicket-keeper batter, Phil Salt, showcased his skills in nine matches for the Delhi Capitals. During his time with the team, he scored a total of 218 runs, maintaining an average of 27.25. Salt notched up two half-centuries, and his highest score reached an impressive 87.
Jason Roy, a fellow Englishman, boasts a track record of 21 IPL matches, amassing a total of 614 runs with an average of 32.32. He has previously played for Gujarat Lions, Delhi Capitals, and Sunrisers Hyderabad before being acquired by KKR in 2023.
