IPL 2024: List of players ruled out from the IPL 2024 Tournament

Get the full list of players who have pulled out from IPL 2024 tournament and their replacement players ahead of the tournament, which begins on March 22.

In this 2024 Indian Premier League (IPL) ahead less than two weeks away, and some of international stars have already pulled out of the tournament because of injury or personal reasons.

List of players who will miss IPL 2024:

Mohammed Shami (Gujarat Titans)

India’s top fast bowler recently underwent a successful surgery to address a right heel issue. As a result of surgery he will miss the upcoming 2022 IPL season. Shami showcased his eligibility in the last year’s ODI World Cup, emerging as the leading wicket-taker with 24 wickets in seven matches. He led the wicket-takers list in the previous IPL season, claiming 28 wickets in 17 matches while playing for the Titans, who reached the final.

Mark Wood (Lucknow Super Giants)

Mark Wood, the fast-bowler from England was pulled out of the upcoming IPL 2024 season by his cricket board to manage his workload ahead of the T20 World Cup in June and a home summer. The 34-year-old Mark Wood picked 11 wickets in four games for LSG, including a fifer in his first match of the season in the year 2023. Lucknow Super Giants named Shamar Joseph replaced for Wood for the upcoming season.

Jason Roy (Kolkata Knight Riders)

Jason Roy, the attacking top-order batter from England, pulled out of the IPL 2024 due to personal reasons. In the last season he played eight matches for Knight Riders with a strike rate of 151.60. Roy played four different teams in four seasons in the IPL tournaments which is Gujarat Lions, Delhi Capitals and Sunrisers Hyderabad. Roy is replaced by another English top-order batter Phil Salt, who hit back-to-back centuries in a T20I series in the Caribbean last December 2023. Salt will join KKR for a reserve price of 1.5 crore.

Devon Conway (Chennai Super Kings)

Devon Conway, the New Zealand opener, who is unlikely to feature in the first leg of the tournament. Conway is likely to be sidelined for eight weeks following a thumb surgery and he was injured during New Zealand’s T20I series at home against Australia last month. He was a top run-getter and scoring 672 runs at a strike rate of 140.

Harry Brook (Delhi Capitals)

Harry Brook, the England cricketer to miss this IPL 2024 after the death of his grandmother. He was bought 13.25 crore by Sunrisers at the IPL 2023 auction but he earned only 190 runs in 11 matches at a strike rate of 123.38. Delhi Capitals didn’t announced a replacement for Harry Brook.

Prasidh Krishna (Rajasthan Royals)

Prasidh Krishna, Indian international bowler pulled out of IPL 2024 because of surgery on his left proximal quadriceps tendon last month. He endured a tough time on his return to the international cricket last year, he had a forgettable Test debut in South Africa in December 2023.

Gus Atkinson (Kolkata Knight Riders)

Gus Atkinson, the English cricket board (ECB) also withdrew from IPL 2024 to manage the pacer’s workload. The youngest player made his international cricket debut only last year and featured in nine ODIs and three T20Is.
