The Right-handed batsman Shubman Gill was born on September 8, 1999 in Fazilka, Punjab, India. He grew up in a farming family with his father Lakhwinder Singh, being an agriculturist. His father recognized Shubman’s cricketing talent at a very young age and even created a cricket pitch on their farm to help him practice.

Childhood and Early Cricket Interest: 

Gill developed his passion for cricket as a child and would practice for hours. His father who had dreams of becoming a cricketer himself, encouraged and supported him by providing the best training possible. While seeing his talent, his family moved to Mohali, it is near the PCA Stadium to get better training.

Gill joined the Punjab Cricket Association Academy and quickly made a name for himself.
He scored 351 runs in a U-16 district-level match and amassed over 2,000 runs in Punjab’s inter-district U-16 tournament in one season.
