World No.1 Novak Djokovic believes Rafael Nadal could be back to play in the 2025 French Open and it will experiencing the “unique moment” of the great Spaniard’s farewell.

Novak Djokovic and Nadal they both have met 59 times in their tennis careers and 10 of those clashes in the Roland Garros.

Novak watched from a star-studded crowd on Court Philippe Chatrier on Monday as 14-time champion Nadal who has lost in straight sets against Alexander Zverev in the first round.

Djokovic said,

“It was great moment. Iga Swiatek was there, Carlos Alcaraz was there and we all wanted to experience the atmosphere of that unique moment, which could be his last. But it doesn’t appear like that.”

While they asked if he expected to see Nadal play in the 2025 French Open when he will celebrate his 39th birthday, he replied: “Yeah, it looks like same.”

“I think really he played very well. Even though he may lost in straight sets and the second and third were really close.

“He could may easily won one of those two sets and maybe that match was going in a different direction.”

“He was a bit unlucky with the draw, because Zverev is in a great form now and he was serving extremely well.”

“It is really tough to play Sascha when he is feeling the ball so well. But it was great time to watch. I don’t recall last time I actually watched a set of any match live on that level other than Davis Cup matches.”

Alexander Zverev joined with Djokovic and Robin Soderling as the only men to defeat Rafael Nadal at Roland Garros since 2005 year.

After the match Rafael Nadal said, “he was unable to make any commitment about his future plans.
