Spanish Tennis player Rafael Nadal has officially withdrawn from the US Open 2024, marking the third Grand Slam tournament he has missed in this season.

In this Nadal’s social media announcement was not much of a surprise. He was on the official entry list which is released last month for New York.

Rafael Nadal said,
“Looks like not. But I am going to let you know very soon. As of now for me now I can’t give you a clear answer. I need some time. but for me it looks difficult.”

He is a four-time champion at the US Open tournament, having claimed the titles in 2010, 2013, 2017, and 2019 year. However, his absence in this year marks the fourth time in the past five years that he has missed the hard-court tournament. The only exception was in the year 2022, while he was defeated in the fourth round by Frances Tiafoe.

Still Nadal has not announced anything about his retirement. But his age and a recent history of injuries including hip surgery in the year 2023 and abdominal muscle issues in 2024 that limited his number of matches the past two seasons.
