Novak Djokovic pulled out of the Cincinnati Open 2025 on Monday for a “non-medical” reason and he will now enter the U.S.Open 2025 without match play in over a month.
Novak Djokovic, the 24-time Grand Slam champion hasn’t played a match since his Wimbledon semi-final loss to eventual champion Jannik Sinner on July 11.

That straight-set loss to Italian Jannik Sinner at the All England Club came just two days after the 38-year-old Novak Djokovic suffered what he called a “nasty” and “awkward” fall during the final game of his quarterfinal win.

Novak appeared physically compromised against Sinner and struggled with his movement, he received treatment on his upper left leg during the match.
Djokovic’s decision to withdraw from Cincinnati Open follows his earlier withdrawal from the Toronto Masters, where a groin injury kept him off the court.
Before Wimbledon Djokovic last competed at the French Open, where he also lost to Jannik Sinner in the semifinals.
Djokovic has plan to enter the U.S.Open 2025 without any hard-court match preparation, with the singles competition set to begin on August 24.
Djokovic has won four U.S.Open titles at Flushing Meadows with the most recent coming in 2023 and his last Grand Slam victory to date.
