Naomi Osaka powered into her first-ever Canadian Open semifinal with a commanding 6-2, 6-2 victory over No.10 seed Elina Svitolina on Tuesday night.

The 18-year-old from Toronto has stunned five higher-ranked opponents on her way to the semi-finals, including a remarkable fourth-round victory over top seed Coco Gauff.
Clara Tauson dedicated her victory to her grandfather Peter said during an on-court interview at IGA Stadium.

Tauson said,
“I really wanted to win today, I really wanted to come out here and show my best tennis for him and I hopefully he is watching.”
She spoke of him (grand father) as one of the biggest supporters of her career.
“He used to coach me a little bit and playing tennis and drove me to almost every single practice from my school. It was really tough news yesterday morning when I woke up, but I think it is for the better. Because he was not feeling great for a while.”
Madison Keys failed to convert her two break chances in the first game. After that the American held serve, Tauson won the ensuing five games to take the first set.
Madison said,
“It is not my best performance out there today, who won this year’s Australian Open.”
“She played amazing tonight and played incredibly well. She served really well and It was just one of those things where I felt like I kept trying different things. She was just beating me, while she is serving like that, it’s going to be really hard to break her.”
